In 2008 the first DISKWENTO CARAVAN was launched at the start of classes as a non-wage benefit for minimum wage earners and employees. Later on, several other editions of the DISKWENTO such as Food, Balik-Eskwela and Holiday Caravans have evolved to cater to the needs of consumers and ease their financial burdens.
The Department of Trade and Industry Misamis Oriental Provincial office (DTI-MOR), in cooperation with the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB), and the local government of Cagayan de Oro, will conduct a Pre-Fiesta Diskwento Caravan to cater to the fiesta needs of residents.

This PRE FIESTA DISKWENTO CARAVAN is set to run on August 14-15, 2015, (Friday and Saturday) from 8:00am to 5:00pm at Magsaysay Park, Plaza Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City with the theme “DISKWENTO – PRESYONG PANALO PARA SA MAMIMILING PILIPINO”.
Manufacturers and local distributors have been invited to ensure that enough products are available for consumers, especially those from the indigent and marginalized sectors, during the caravan.
Over 25 companies are to participate in the event offering a variety of basic goods and assorted-for-sale-products at discounted rates and prices.
