While Manila waits for the homecoming of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach on January 23, Cagayan de Oro will put up a photo exhibit to honor her triumph in the Miss Universe pageant.
The photo exhibit will formally open to the public Saturday, January 23 at 4pm in time for its unveiling to be graced by City Tourism Officials of Cagayan de Oro headed by Dorothy Jean Pabayo and Miss CDO organizing Committee Chair Gigi Go. Some pageant fanatics are also invited to the said event including local beauty queens. The Limketkai Mall will host the said exhibit for a week.
The exhibit will feature personal photo documentations of Jory Serina Rivera, a known pageant photo journalist who is also a personal friend of Pia. Jory is a pageant photographer for OPMB WORLDWIDE, a website dedicated to covering national and international pageants like Binibining Pilipinas and Ms. Universe.
Jory was born in Cagayan de Oro and was raised in Opol, Misamis Oriental. He studied grade school and high school in Corpus Christi School in Macasandig and earned his degree in Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University. While working full time for Hewlett Packard as an IT professional, Jory juggles his day job with his passion for photography. Aside from pageants, he is also a photographer for BroadwayWorld covering musical theater shows in Manila.
Jory was in Las Vegas during the Miss Universe pageant duration and was also part of Pia’s entourage on her way to New York.
Meanwhile, Miss CDO organizing Committee is now in its final stage of putting up a marker for Pia as the City’s tribute in honoring her triumph in the Miss Universe pageant.
The photo exhibit will run from January 23-30 at Limketkai Mall, 2nd floor East Concourse (across Marks and Spencer).
