SEARCH FOR MISS SCUBA PHILIPPINES BEGINS
A beauty pageant with an advocacy to promote marine conservation and safe diving has been launched by non-other than the current world title holder, Miss Scuba International, Cindy Madumma at the Belmont Hotel Manila recently.
Madumma a 28-year old registered nurse from Palawan who won the title last November 27, 2015 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia is the first Filipina to have won the title.

“Miss Scuba Philippines is more than a beautiful face, she is a role model for young Filipinas who dream of becoming community leaders and marine conservation advocates,” said Miss Scuba National Director for the Philippines and Miss Scuba International 2013 1st runner up, Christine Paula Love Bernasor.
The pageant also aims to promote diving as a sport especially to the youth throughout the Philippine archipelago. This is does not only create awareness of the marine life but also as part of protecting it. Miss Scuba Philippines is under the event supervision of tourism promotions and marketing company, Selrahco Management, Philippines.
Miss Scuba is different from other beauty pageants for all candidates must be a certified diver (at least Open Water Level).
Miss Scuba Philippines regional selections will be held during the months of July and August in key dive destinations like Cebu, Bohol, Dumaguete, Subic, Davao and Batangas. Aspiring candidate must be single, female by birth, a citizen or permanent resident of the Philippines. She must be aged between 18-28 years old during the international competition, of good moral character and is at least 5’4” high without heels. Also, she must also be fluent in English and of good health.
