The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Cultural Exchange Department brings to Cagayan de Oro the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) Winners Outreach Concert Tour billed as “Gift of Music”.
According to Gerdane Reyes of the CCP’s Cultural Exchange Department (CED), the concert to be held July 16at the Liceo de Cagayan University’s Rodelsa Hall will top bill a select group of young musical prodigies and winners of the NAMCYA.
The featured artists include Jade Rubis Riccio, soprano – 2014 NAMCYA Second Prize Winner, Voice Category C & Best Interpretation of Competition Piece Award; Mhaze Danniel Lim, viola – 2015 NAMCYA Grand Prize & Special Prize Winner, Lower Strings; Andrew Constantino, clarinet – 2015 NAMCYA Grand Prize Winner, Woodwinds; and Kirk Allen Mallorca, piano – 2015 NAMCYA Honorable Mention & Special Prize Winner, Piano.
“The concert will showcase and share their superb talent as their offering to their fellow youth in the local communities who are aspiring to engage in creative endeavors, hone their artistic talents and achieve excellence,” said NAMCYA Secretary General Mr. Renato Lucas.
The outreach concert tour kicks off on July 11-12 at the Luce Auditorium Silliman University – Dumaguete City, followed on July 14 at Sanctuario De La Salle – Bacolod City, July 16 at Rodelsa Hall Liceo de Cagayan University – Cagayan de Oro City and July 19 at the Philippine High School for the Arts in Makiling, Laguna.
“Gift of Music” is a joint project of the Silliman University Cultural Affairs Committee, Negros Cultural Foundation, Liceo de Cagayan University Office of Cultural Affairs, Shrine of St. Anne and the Philippine High School for the Arts.
