The Department of Trade and Industry Region 10 successfully earned again its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) ISO 9001:2008 quality management system re-certification from AJA Registrars, Inc. for six years in a row.

During the audit, DTI Northern Mindanao had zero nonconformity and was confirmed that its quality management system adequately complies with the requirement of the standards.

Since 2010, DTI 10 has been implementing and updating a quality management system that satisfies international standards covering its 57 enrolled service processes.

The ISO 9000 is internationally recognized as a family of quality management systems standards designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product or service.

Third-party certification bodies provide for the independent confirmation that organizations meet the requirements of ISO 9001.

The certification to ISO 9001:2008 is a continuing process of improving DTI 10’s quality management system catering to provision of government services related to business development, consumer welfare and general processes for the Regional Office as well as the provincial offices of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental.

DTI Northern Mindanao is also preparing for its transition to the latest ISO management system standards known as the ISO 9001:2015.
