Cagayan de Oro’s resident Kusina Bisaya is now open at the 3rd floor of Centrio Mall, just around the corner from Robinson’s Department Store entrance to Centrio Garden.
“There is a demand from people who frequent the malls,” said Henrik Yu (Doy to friends) when asked why open another store barely half a kilometer from the first store and along the same Corrales Avenue. “It serves a different market.”

Mind you, the original resto is not small, but it’s often full to overflowing and it’s a tad difficult these days (to say the least) to get a parking space around that area. Centrio Mall at least offers much more parking space though that’s shared by all 200 plus stores of the mall.
So is there anything new to look forward to at Boy Zugba Centrio?”
“We have new dishes in our menu like Buko Pancit (!), Oh-My-Bacon, Oppa Gambas Style, and Kasag na Salaag,” says Doy, continuing the tradition of catchy names masterminded by Doy himself which has become a trademark of their restaurants which includes Bigby’s Café and Restaurant, Missy Bon Bon Breadshop Restaurant, and MBB Frozen Factory.
As graduates of the pioneer class of the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA) in Manila, Doy, his wife Anne and partner Cathy Genabe introduced the first truly intercontinental menu to Cagayan de Oro when they founded Bigby’s Café in 1998.
Bigby’s global cuisine and fine/fast-casual dining format revolutionized the Kagay-anons dining habits and now ranks #5 in Trip Advisor which has awarded it a “Certificate of Excellence” with 8 branches in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Another ground-breaking establishment followed in 2000 with the advent of Missy Bon Bon Breadshop Restaurant, serving gelato, pastries, sandwiches and pasta at Limketkai Center, now ranked #1 among Desserts in Cagayan de Oro by Trip Advisor.
As if two game-changing restaurants weren’t enough for a lifetime, the partners have put their collective wisdom together to come up with yet another winner in Boy Zugba in 2015.
In addition to the new menu items, Kusina Bisaya aficionados will be happy to find the same menu and prices at the new Boy Zugba Centrio such as Bandihadong Karne (a sampler of their best selling Pork barbecue, Cheezy Chorizo and Liempo); the classic Kagay-anon Sinuglaw de Cagayan (rated the best ever in CDO by a Trip Advisor Reviewer), Chicken Inasal, Lechon Kawali Gi Ulanan sa Sili ug Tanglad, Manok La-uya, Presko nga Lumpia Ubod, and not the least, an all-time Kagay-anon street food fave stylized as Kiping dala Atik!
