There’s a new snack bar right across the Centrio Cinemas that’s guaranteed to expand your Centrio cinematic experience.
Now open for business near Centrio Cinemas, 3rd floor, Centrio Mall
Candice A. Saligumba, operations association manager of Centrio Mall, said the new company owned enterprise dubbed “Movie Snack Bar” aims to level up the Centrio Cinema goers’ movie viewing experience to what their counterparts in first class cinemas around the world have long enjoyed.
We checked out the new kiosk located just beside the Ticket Sales booth of Centrio Cinemas and indeed, you get more bang for the buck if you choose to buy your movie snacks here, sans the inconvenience of lugging all those bottles and bags of junk food all over the mall.

For starters, there are five varieties of popcorn you can choose from in a variety of combos. Ms. Candice recommended we try the new Asian Gourmet flavor and indeed, it was a yummy choice! Other available include the classics Original, Barbeque and Cheese, and Sour Cream & Onions for the picky ones.
Should you choose to get the P100 bucket size, you have the option of choosing two flavors for your bucket. Popcorn is also available in tumbler size for P60.
Affordable Menu
There’s an equally exciting variety of flavors to choose your Nestle teas or juices (House Blend, Blue Lemonade, Dalandan or Cucumber Lemonade). That’s also available in regular size (22 oz. /P55) or large size (32 oz. /P75). Bottled water goes for P25 and bottled juice P35.
And of course, what’s a movie without a hotdog? Available on-stick (P50) or in-sandwich (P60), you have a choice of ketchup, mayo or mustard toppings.
Combo Meals
Going alone or with a friend? No worries. Ask for the Dramarama Combo for only P100 and you get 1 popcorn tumbler and 1 ice tea/juice (regular) on top of saving P15! Or upgrade to the Classic Combo for only P160 and get 1 tumbler popcorn, 1 jumbo hotdog sandwich and 1 regular ice tea/juice and you save P15! But the best deal saves you P50 whopping big ones when you get the Good for 2 Combo Meals with 1 bucket of popcorn + 2 ice tea/juice for only P160!
And for launching night, Centrio Mall reserved the best for last as we thoroughly enjoyed Dead Pool with Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein,T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, and Leslie Uggams. This must be the closest Marvel has got to putting one of its superheroes on film and Reynolds is just super in the title role.
The Movie Snack Bar
How good is it? Let’s have the box office numbers from Wikipedia tell more of the tell but parents be warned: there’s more to it than the R-16 rating may lead you to believe but better send kids over 21 na. Lots of violence, gore, violence, nudity and profanity is a mile a minute. But if you can leave your inhibitions at the cinema door and just enjoy it, it’s a really hilarious and enjoyable movie, the critics be damned. Don’t forget to put them back on when you exit the movie, by the way.

It had a worldwide opening of $264.9 million from 62 markets, which is the biggest of 2016, the biggest for an R-rated film, and the second biggest for Fox, only behind Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith ($303.9 million). Just a sampler before we go: As Wade/Deadpool leaves the house of the blind lady called Al where he’s been holding out, he says: “Before I go, I misplaced an eight ball of cocaine somewhere in this apartment and it’s right next to the cure for blindness.” (note: Al is blind and keeps muttering, “I miss cocaine!) Definitely R-18! Dunno how this got past MTRCB with an R-16 rating!
