Relatives and friends of Christian and Vianccy (nee Ramos) Unabia who knew the story that led to their wedding last 31 July 2015 couldn’t help but tear up when the groom’s mom started her talk during the reception which followed at the Xavier Sports and Country Club with the greeting, “Magandang Buhay!”
Avid fans of Kapamilya telenovelas know those words from the hit ABS-CBN Prime Time series “Dream Dad” by “Be Careful With My Heart” director Jeffrey Jeturian. The series focused on a young orphaned girl, portrayed by child actress Jana Agoncillo, who was searching for a loving family, and comes across Baste –a bachelor president of a company who is trying to move on from a heartbreak.
The parallels to the couple’s real life romance are astounding, to say the least, and Mrs. Erlinda (Gingging to friends) couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate blessing to bestow for the occasion.
Held at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel in Xavier Estates, the afternoon wedding was immediately followed by cocktails and dinner at the adjacent Xavier Sports and Country Club ballroom dressed up to the nines in a Game of Chance Motif by Ojie Marquez.

The wedding ceremony was presided by Fr. Roel Bontol assisted by Fr. Eleno Constantino Magtrayo. The traditional post-nup pictorial at the church followed thence the guests proceeded to the Xavier Sports and Country Club for the cocktails.
Following a breather, they next headed upstairs to the grand ballroom for the start of the reception with the entrance of the entourage headed by the Best Man, Groomsmen and Bridesmaids. This was followed by the grand entrance of the Parents of the Couple.
A Pre-Nup Video by MVP followed, preceding the grand entrance of he couple in a dance with Xtactic Dancers. This was followed by another AVP of Pre-Nup Pictures by Blues Marquez Photography.
Finally, the “real grand entrance” of the newly-wed couple and their first romantic dance followed, first with the parents of the groom, then the parents of the bride. Naturally, the traditional “gala-gala” followed with the sponsors and other well-wishers wishing the couple a good start in their married life with their gift offerings pinned to their garments.
Likewise, as tradition dictated, the couple’s first meal with the slicing of the cake and wine toasting followed.
Next, Mrs. Erlinda Unabia welcomed the guests to the reception, stressing how welcome Vianccy was to the family seeing how good she was for Christian. The sumptuous reception meal followed with the various tables drawing lots to see who got to get their pictures with the newly-weds taken first to qualify for the proceeding to the banquet table. Yaiks!
After most everyone had stuffed themselves silly with the savory wedding banquet, the Xtatic Dancers consisting mostly of the couple’s titos and titas rendered their “Mafia-style” dance number.
Best Man and groom’s brother Wowee (who is a really funny guy, he has a future career in comedy) and Vianccy’s Maid of Honor and BFF Mapple Mae Llamis rendered their toasts to the future of the couple.
After another AVP of onsite photos by Blues Marquez Photography, the father of the groom, Rep. Peter “Señor Pedro” Unabia and the mother of the bride Mrs. Lilia Mejia shared their “Nuggets of Wisdom” with their children.
Following another Onsite video by MVP Digital, newly minted groom Christian thanked everyone who had made their wedding a success, especially their respective families for seeing them through to their new life as a married couple.
